Replay Events’ Video Game Market, the UK’s biggest and longest-running retro gaming market, is returning to Sheffield following the resounding success of its first Sheffield market last year.

The event, which attracted 2,800 people last year, will return to Ponds Forge Leisure Centre in June, offering visitors the chance to find a variety of retro games, consoles and accessories.

Having held events in London, Glasgow, Cardiff and Birmingham, among other locations – and drawing over 300,000 visitors since 2014 – the Sheffield Video Game Market will fittingly become Replay’s flagship Yorkshire event, building on the city’s pioneering role in video gaming in the UK.

Sheffield’s gaming heritage dates back to 1984, following the breakthrough titles of Gremlin Graphics. Today, that legacy continues with Sumo Digital, founded in 2003 by veterans of Gremlin Interactive, which has since grown into one of the country’s largest game developers. The city has long embodied the evolution of video games in the UK – exemplified by the National Video Game Museum calling Sheffield home.

Tickets for the market start at just £4 for general entry but advance tickets are available for those who want to get their hands on the best deals first. The event runs from 11am until 4pm allowing visitors to experience the vast selection of retro games and exhibitors for up to five hours.

Andy Brown, managing director of Replay Events, said: “We’re very excited to return to Sheffield after last year’s incredible success – this time bigger and better!

“With Sheffield’s gaming heritage, and the wonderful National Video Game Museum in the city too, it was a no-brainer for us to make this our regional flagship event. We can’t wait to be back in Sheffield.”

The success of last year’s Sheffield launch reflects the growing interest in retro gaming as a whole. According to used technology retailer Back Market, there was a 32 per cent% increase in retro gaming console purchases in 2025 compared to 2024.
