Sheffield is set for a major live music moment as DJ AG brings a live-streamed performance to Sheffield city centre, outside Sheffield Town Hall, this Friday 6 March, 4–8pm.

Created in collaboration with WaterBear – The College of Music, the event will spotlight the city’s grassroots talent with three additional performance slots being made available for even more Sheffield-based artists to join the lineup and perform as part of DJ AG’s live stream.

The wider lineup is being curated by WaterBear and partners and will feature a mix of WaterBear student performers, Slambarz CIC artists, special guest appearances from Sheffield music legends, and a selection of Sheffield’s best-known urban artists.

Local artists can apply now by sending the below info to opportunities@waterbear.org.uk:

• Artist name + short bio (max 100 words)

• Links to live performance footage (YouTube/Instagram/TikTok/Facebook)

• Contact email + phone number

Applicants must be available 3–8pm on Friday 6 March (event live stream runs 4–8pm).

Applications close at midnight on Monday 2nd March. A shortlist will be announced on Wednesday 4 March, followed by a public vote on WaterBears Instagram and TikTok accounts.

Eve Massaad, WaterBear – The College of Music said: “Partnering with DJ AG to open up three ‘Apply to Play’ slots is a proper, real-world opportunity for emerging artists to perform live, in the city centre, as part of a huge moment for grassroots music. We want the next wave of Sheffield talent to feel seen, supported, and ready to step up.”

DJ AG added: “Every city’s got talent, but not every artist gets a real moment to be seen. Sheffield’s always had its own sound, so I’m bringing the live stream to the Town Hall and opening up three more slots for even more people from the city to jump on the lineup. If you’ve got a live set ready, apply, and let’s show the world what Sheffield’s on.”
