The British Figure Skating Championships 2025 are currently taking place in Sheffield. 

This prestigious event brings the nation’s top skaters to the city to compete for national titles and the chance to represent Great Britain internationally.

Sheffield has become synonymous with figure skating excellence in recent decades. The city first hosted the British Championships back in 2004 and has consistently hosted the competition since 2010.

The city is also home to British Ice Skating, the sport’s national governing body.

Spectators and skaters alike will be welcomed back to iceSheffield once again this year for five days of exciting, competitive ice skating. The Champs Include singles, pairs and ice dance competitions as the nation’s top talent compete, ahead of the much-anticipated ISU European Figure Skating Championship 2026, coming to Utilita Sheffield Arena, 13-18 January. 

Councillor Mohammed Mahroof, Chair of the Economic Development, Skills and Culture Committee at Sheffield City Council, said: “We are delighted to welcome back the British Figure Skating Championships to the city for another year. We are also looking forward to bringing the European Championships to the city in January, with the countdown to the event now well and truly on.

“Major sporting events like this deliver significant benefits for Sheffield. Events of this scale offer a real boost to local businesses such hotels and our hospitality sector. With thousands of athletes and fans expected, the Championships will inject energy and revenue into the city while inspiring the next generation of skaters.”

Countdown to the ISU Figure Skating European Championships Sheffield 2026 

In just under two months, Sheffield will host the ISU European Figure Skating Championships 2026 at the Utilita Arena – the first time in over a decade the UK has staged this prestigious event. Around 160 of Europe’s top skaters will compete, offering fans a thrilling preview of talent ahead of the Milan-Cortina Olympic Winter Games.
