The National Videogame Museum in Sheffield is preparing for a Halloween takeover this October half-term (24 October-1 November), with a week of spooky videogames, creepy crafts and family-friendly activities for gamers of all ages.

• Spooky games: Take on the undead in Plants vs. Zombies, hunt ghosts in Ghostbusters Arcade and discover other Halloween-themed videogame favourites.

• Creepy crafts: Create ghosts and ghouls, build a haunted house and design spooky costumes for your favourite videogame characters.

• Fancy-dress fun: Dress up on 30 or 31 October to receive 50 per cent off walk-in admission and a Halloween treat, with the chance to win a family ticket worth £45 in the fancy-dress competition.

But the spooky fun doesn’t stop at the screen. With ghosts on the loose in the Museum’s galleries, young visitors are being called upon to become ghost hunters and help track down the mischievous spirits

Throughout the week, families can also get creative with Halloween-themed crafts, including making ghosts and ghouls, building their own haunted houses and designing spooky costumes for their favourite videogame characters.
