Following last year’s bespoke 30km charity walk, Longbow Venues is taking on an even bigger challenge this September – a 42km (26-mile) hike across the Peak District for Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

With an ascent of 2,952ft, the team will set off early in the morning from The Peacock at Owler Bar, finishing at The Ashford Arms. Along the route, the team will stop for lunch at The Maynard in Grindleford and pass their other Longbow Venues, including The George in Hathersage, The Peacock at Rowsley and The Charleston Bakewell.

Taking on the challenge alongside What’s Not to Hike, 40 Longbow Venues team members are preparing to put their fitness and determination to the test.

Training is well underway, with team members gradually increasing their distance and time on their feet each week.

Last year, they raised more than £6,000 for Sheffield Children’s Hospital – and are setting their sights even higher with an ambitious fundraising target of £7,500.

Every pound raised will help provide lifesaving equipment, support pioneering research and create comforting, family-friendly spaces for children and their families at Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
