Celebrations for one of Yorkshire’s greatest sporting and social events of the year will reach a new high this September when Doncaster hosts the 250th running of the world’s oldest classic horserace, The St.Leger.

The race is the centrepiece of four days of high class racing on Town Moor, with proceedings coming under starter’s orders on Thursday 10 September and the Leger itself being run on the Saturday.

To mark this momentous occasion the region’s leading independent magazine, Eastside, is partnering with Doncaster Racecourse to produce an exclusive souvenir publication.

The magazine will put the spotlight on what many believe is the Ascot of The North with articles on the glitz and glamour of the racing spectacle, historical reflections and stories of individuals involved in the staging of this great social and sporting event.

Nearly 100,000 spectators will flock to the course during the four-day festival with restaurants and hospitality already sold out. In addition to its regular distribution prior to the Festival, Eastside will also be available during the four days at all bars, boxes and restaurants.

This extra distribution comes at no extra cost to advertise and represents a once in a year opportunity to reach a captive and attentive audience at this major event, attended a few years ago by the newly crowned King.

Deadline for copy is Friday 21 August with a publication date of Tuesday 1 September.
