The big day may be over until next year, but Kelham Pride has announced it is hosting a special fundraising film night later this month, giving supporters the chance to celebrate Pride once again while helping the future of one of Sheffield’s fastest-growing inclusive events.

The event, hosted at Peddler Warehouse on Thursday 16 July, will feature a screening of Matthew Warchus’ historical comedy-drama ‘Pride’ (2014), which is based on the inspiring true story of LGBTQ+ activists helping families affected by the British miners’ strike in 1984, leading to the creation of the Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners campaign.

The fundraiser comes just weeks after Kelham Pride welcomed its biggest-ever crowd, with around 16,000 people attending this year’s free festival in Kelham Island. Organisers are now looking ahead to the 2027 event, with proceeds from the screening helping to fund another day of free entertainment, live performances and community celebrations.

Attendees can expect a relaxed evening at Peddler Warehouse with comfortable seating, a giant LED screen and music following the screening, creating an opportunity to socialise while supporting the future of the festival.

Ady Jaques, lead fundraiser for Kelham Pride, said: “Kelham Pride has become such an important event for the city, bringing together an incredible community that celebrates inclusivity, creativity and support for one another. Every year, the festival grows, and we’re excited to be looking ahead to making the next event even bigger and better.

“We’d love people to come along to our fantastic partner venue, Peddler Warehouse, enjoy a fantastic uplifting film and help support the future of Kelham Pride. It’s set to be a brilliant evening, and everyone is welcome.”

Tickets for the Kelham Pride fundraiser film night are £5 (+£1 booking fee), and the event takes place at Peddler Warehouse on Thursday 16 July, from 6 pm. Reserve your spot on Skiddle today.
