Tramlines – now sold out – may be best known for its exceptional music, but the festival’s comedy programme promises just as much entertainment. 

The comedy stage offers festival-goers the chance to create memorable moments through shared laughter, while offering a chance to relax and enjoy something new.

Whether you’re a fan of sharp observational comedy, clever social satire or dry deadpan humour, this year’s line-up has something to keep every member of the audience laughing.

This year a collection of established favourites and rising stars will be showcased. With performances from Reginald D Hunter, known for his observational humour, Ross Noble, celebrated for his wildly improvised and surreal storytelling and Dom Joly, marking the 25th anniversary of Trigger Happy TV with a special appearance at the festival.

Also appearing over the weekend are Hayley Ellis, Tom Wrigglesworth, Tom Ward and Louise Reed with comperes Danny McLoughlin (Friday), Matt Reed (Saturday) and Emmanuel Sonubi (Sunday) tying everything up in a nice comedy bow.

Bursting with energy and laughter, the comedy programme is the perfect escape from the lively crowds of Tramlines, giving you the opportunity to unwind amongst friends and family, whilst enjoying a line-up to remember.

Alongside the music and comedy, Into the Trees returns as a central part of the weekend, reflecting just how many families now build Tramlines into their summer plans. New for this year, the first few acts each day on The Library stage will be family focussed. 

Running across all three days and hosted by Molly from Molly Kids TV, the programme brings together a mix of interactive learning, performance and open-ended play. 

Taskmaster Education features across Friday and Saturday, encouraging problem solving and teamwork, while Amazelab delivers hands-on science experiences including Colour Chaos, Power Up and The Coolest Show on Earth. Sunday also sees SDK Dance Crew bring a live performance element into the space. 

Beyond the scheduled programme, Into the Trees is designed as somewhere families can properly settle in. Arts and crafts, circus workshops with Storm in a Teacup, cartoon drawing, stilt walking, bubble displays and dance workshops all sit alongside dedicated facilities to support families across the day.
