THE GARDENERS REST

Labelled one of the best and most unique outdoor drinking spaces in Sheffield, The Gardeners Rest beer garden is one we would highly recommend. As the garden sits directly on the banks of the River Don, it offers idyllic and peaceful riverside views to enjoy as well as a fairytale-like atmosphere, often described as an ‘Alice in Wonderland style labyrinth.’ Littered with industrial relics used as plant pots, stained glass panels and giant flower lamps, The Gardeners Rest is the place to go if you’re looking for a lively, yet cosy feel this summer.

THE NURSERY TAVERN

The Nursery Tavern has also been deemed ‘one of the best outdoor pub spaces in Sheffield’ due to its massive lively area that gets very popular as summer arrives. The garden features a giant ‘mammoth-sized’ TV, making it a prime destination for sports fans, especially as the world cup is taking place, as well as its incredible seating variety including picnic tables, private cabanas and covered booths. If you’re looking for a beer garden with a great community and even better value (such as their ‘noughties happy hour’ deals), it’s the place to be.

KAPITAL

Kapital is often praised for its incredible entertainment, offering DJs, live bands and regular performers such as Sharon Dreadz and James B Stephens. This paired alongside its venue design (stretching over two floors, featuring multiple bars and its stylish restaurant area) makes it a memorable spot to catch up with friends whilst enjoying the hot afternoon sunshine.

EARL’S YARD

Newly-located in the city centre, Earl’s Yard beer garden provides a vibrant mix of massive screens for live sports, and rotating street food that makes it stand out as a top spot for an open-air beer garden. It often features a dedicated live stage and two massive LED screens that are heavily used for major sporting events (such as the World Cup).

Positioned directly on Division Street, the front patio to the Frog and Parrot serves as a sun trap during midday. Designed with the traditional wooden bench seating, it is the perfect spot for people-watching whilst soaking up the blazing sun. The rear beer garden, however, is more enclosed. With its smaller, more isolated pockets of seating, the backyard beer garden is the perfect place if you want a quieter area to chat with friends and family.
