Imagine not having the safety, security, and comfort of a home — no place to sleep at night, nowhere to wash, no hot meal waiting. These are basic necessities many take for granted, yet for thousands of people across the UK, they remain out of reach.

That’s why a dedicated group of 90 colleagues from Lloyds Banking Group are taking action — raising funds for Crisis, the national charity committed to ending homelessness. Adam Sanders is among those 90 who aims to make at least £4,000 this year and you can help by donating to his Just Giving page.

Crisis works with thousands of people each year, offering life-changing support including access to benefits, healthcare, housing and employment. They prioritise helping those facing the most complex and difficult challenges, often with nowhere else to turn. Alongside this frontline support, Crisis also campaigns to tackle the root causes of homelessness, pushing for systemic change through research, policy work and collaboration with governments and other organisations.

To reach their goals, the team is organising a wide range of fundraising activities across the country. From bake sales and raffles to sponsored walks, office challenges and bucket collections, colleagues are engaging their communities and workplaces to rally support. The campaign is being driven by volunteers across different departments and regions, united by a shared commitment to making a tangible difference.

The group’s signature fundraising challenge is a five-day, 100-kilometre trek across the Sahara Desert, which will see participants face extreme heat, rugged terrain and long distances as they push themselves physically and mentally in support of the cause. This high-endurance event is designed not only to raise significant sponsorship but also to draw national attention to the ongoing issue of homelessness in the UK.

Funds raised will help Crisis continue its year-round services, including education and training programmes, support into housing and access to mental and physical healthcare. Additionally, the money will support the charity’s work to influence national policy and improve systems that can prevent homelessness from happening in the first place.

The team’s efforts aim not only to raise money but also to spotlight the urgent and ongoing issue of homelessness and to encourage more people, businesses and institutions to play a role in creating long-term, sustainable change.
